Varifocal Lenses: Which One Is Right For You?

Varifocal Lenses: Which One Is Right For You?

Do you need to wear varifocal glasses to correct your vision? Perhaps you have been wearing progressive contact lenses and wish to buy optical frames to use as an alternative to your contact lenses.

With technology, we are able to offer progressive lenses that allow the wearer's eyes to adapt more quickly to the lenses and see better. Technology has also allowed us to specifically tailor the lenses to meet your needs.

Types Of Varifocal Lenses

Below are 4 types of progressive lenses you can choose from for your varifocal glasses.

The Basic/Standard Type
These lenses are the cheapest type of varifocal lenses on the market. They can be a good option for those on a tight budget however you will have to compensate for your field of vision. These standard lenses have a narrow field of vision due to aberrations in the lenses. These lenses are not recommended for those with high prescriptions and first-time wearers.

The Advanced Type
The advanced lenses have a wider field of vision. The wider intermediate field enables wearers to adapt more easily to the lenses. These lenses can be worn by first-time wearers and high prescriptions however it is recommended that first-time wearers invest in the premium or elite lenses for excellent visual acuity and clarity.

The Premium Type
With premium varifocal lenses, you will be able to see more clearly. Images will look sharper and the field of vision is much wider than the basic and advanced types. Premium lenses are excellent for first-time wearers because of the wide field of vision and visual acuity. These lenses will give the eyes an easier chance to adapt than the previous types.

The Elite Type
If you're looking for the top of the range product, you want the elite lens. These lenses have unmatched visual acuity, thanks to the special technology in the lenses which lowers the aberrations. Images appear cleaner and sharper making the elite lens type the best choice for first-time wearers. These lenses are incredibly easy for the eyes to adapt to as the aberrations (distortion in the lens) is very minimal.
