Shape encompasses the actual shape of the frames and the lines they create, whereas style is all about the personality and vibe they give off.  All these play off each other and will influence how a pair of sunnies will look on your face and make you feel. But first things first, let’s talk about face shapes. There are a number of different shape categories that your face can be part of. Here are the most common:

Round - wide forehead and hairline, full cheeks and soft jawline and chin. Think Selena Gomez and Jack Black. 

Oval - longline face with a forehead and chin that’s narrower than the cheekbones. Think Rihanna and Zac Efron. 
Heart - wide forehead, defined cheekbones, and a narrow, pointed chin. Think Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Gosling.
Square - similar width cheekbones, forehead and jawline. Think Jennifer Aniston and Henry Cavill.
Rectangle - similar to the square face shape, but longer in length, narrow forehead and flat chin. Think Angelina Jolie and Harrison Ford.

You can determine what type of face you have by looking in the mirror. With lipstick or eyeliner, trace around your face on the mirror glass. Step back and see which one of these categories the outline fits into. The goal with picking a pair of sunglasses to suit your face shape is to emphasise contrast. This creates balance which is very flattering. Here’s an overview of what to aim for in choosing sunglasses for your face shape:

Round face - bold lines, structure and sharp angles will create contrast with your soft features. We recommend square, rectangular, cat eye, Wayfarer styles.
Oval face - Your features are proportioned and pretty much in balance with each other. You can basically wear any style shades you like, and will look great!
Heart shaped face - Round frames and Aviators will create great balance with your heart-like proportions. Styles that have a bold, wide top section are also very flattering, so consider cat eye and Wayfarer frames.
Square face - Round styles and Aviators will soften up your striking, defined features and contrast the angular structure of your face.
Rectangular face - Bold, impactful topline styles, like Wayfarers or cat eyes, will create a flattering balance with your facial features.
