Simon Cowell Sunglasses

The dad-to-be X Factor judge's signature shades

If Simon Cowell is half as much fond of finding out the baby news with girlfriend Lauren Silverman as he is about his aviators than the notoriously critical X Factor judge and entrepreneur is in for a treat.

The English TV producer and A&R executive are most known for his blunt criticism, insults and wisecracks about contestants in his role as a talent judge on shows like The X Factor, the Got Talent franchise, Pop Idol and American Idol. He also owns the television production and music publishing house Syco through which he often combines his activities in the two industries.

The singers most famously discovered by him or who have been signed to Syco are One Direction, the operatic duo Il Divo, Will Young, Gareth Gates, Leona Lewis amongst others.

Simon has been a regular on lists like "100 Most Influential People in the World" (Time), The World's 50 Most Influential Figures 2010 (New Statesman) with TV Guide ranking him #10 on its "The 60 Nastiest Villains of All Time" list.

Simon Cowell might not have a huge collection of sunglasses (mostly you see them very this very same pair), but the one he has chosen is a true classic, which has become part of the signature look of many celebrities.

Ray-BanRB 3025

As voted by people all over the world, Ray-Ban Aviators are the best selling sunglasses of the year! In fact, they’ve actually been the brand’s best selling model since 1937. Its popularity has been consistent since its first launch and was elevated to legendary status when the eyewear and brand was re-launched.

Celebrities who are constantly seen with their Ray-Ban Aviators include Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Matt Smith, Alessandra Ambrosio and even Hollywood stars such as Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox. The unisex appeal of this model is great because you can easily “borrow” your partner’s pair without feeling awkward.

The story of the Ray-Ban RB3025 started in 1937 when optical manufacturers Bausch and Lomb started up the Ray Ban brand. Initially, this brand was to develop eyewear for pilots only as their eyes were not protected from the sun’s harmful UV rays. Polarized lenses were added to block out glare and the distinct teardrop shape ensured that sunlight would not be able to hit the eyes from various angles.
