Kimi Raikkonen in Oakley Sunglasses
The F-1 champion is wearing Oakley in the fast lane
The Finnish racing driver Kimi Raikkonen fell in love with cars and racing as a child, when he began karting at the age of 10. By the age of 15, he was already competing in his first international race in Monaco. Kimi entered Formula One in 2001 with Sauber-Petronas, switched to McLaren Mercedes in 2002 and by 2003 he was already a title contender and one to keep an eye on even for F-1 "veterans" Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso, whom he finished second to in 2003 and 2005.
Kimi's decision to switch teams again and move to Ferrari in 2007 seemed to be a good one as he secured his first Formula One Drivers' Championship title that year. 2007 saw not only his career skyrocket but his income too: with an estimated wage of $51 million per year he became the highest-paid driver in motorsport. Kimi even made it into Forbes magazine's The Celebrity 100 list along with fellow F-1 racer Fernando Alonso.
Kimi left Formula One for a couple of years to swap the glam of the F-1 racing cars to the world of rallying: he competed in the World Rally Championships and NASCAR before eventually returning to F-1 driving for Lotus.
Kimi Raikkonen seems to have a decent collection of Oakley sunglasses and recently he's been seen sporting the Oakley Holbrook which is one of the most popular choices of Oakley sunglasses models in the past few years.
Oakley Holbrook OO9102
Created by snowboard superstar Shaun White and his brother Jesse the Holbrook was inspired by vintage styles and the heroes of the silver screen of the 40s, 50s and 60s: the loner, the leader, the everyman who lived by a code and stood up for what was right and did what had to be done. He arrived in his dusty clothes from the journey behind him and could have been gone come tomorrow. You couldn't hold him down.
The name Holbrook comes from the name of a small town found along historic Route 66 in Arizona - a classic western badland epitomising a spirit of exploration and adventure found in those travelling along this highway.
It's a great casual frame that is comfortable to wear and gives excellent coverage. High durability, stress-resistant frames perfect for an active lifestyle when watching your sunglasses is the last thing on your mind. Due to the comfortable, lightweight design, they're so light that you won't even notice wearing them. On second thought though, yes you will. Because the special lenses offer not only 100% UV protection but also filter harmful blue light up to 400nm, and this polarised version cuts out more than 99% of reflected glare as well. If it's good enough for an F-1 racer, it's good enough for us!
Did you know that Zac Efron, Jessica Biel and Robert Downey Jr has the same sunglasses, too?
