D&G Eyewear

Company History
This modern cosmopolitan brand was founded in 1985 by fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. The duo has always been known to design pieces that would excite and attract men and women from all over the world. One signature icon of the brand is the leopard print which is usually found on the inside of handbags, outerwear as well as eyewear and accessories such as purses.

This animal print pattern reflects the brand’s identity of sensuality, confidence and glamour. No everyone would dare to wear leopard print as only the most confident individuals would be able to pull it off. The brand’s Italian heritage is also apparent in the D&G collection. Colours used by the fashion brand reflect the Mediterranean culture; these include colours like orange, green, yellow and red. These bright citrus colours also emphasize the company’s modern and playful personality.

Eyewear Collection
The D&G eyewear collection was officially launched in 1995. The eyewear collection offers two distinctive personalities. One personality is more cosmopolitan, modern and playful whilst the other personality is more traditional, elegant and classic. The playful collection of DG eyewear offers a wide range of modern frame styles in bright, funky frame colours and patterns. The sophisticated side of Dolce and Gabbana eyewear offers a selection of timeless frame styles in subtle and elegant frame colours and patterns.

Both personalities have a hint of the company’s Mediterranean culture within its design. Most of the Dolce and Gabbana eyewear collection is made from acetate frame material. There is a good selection of metal frames for those who prefer this frame material to acetate. Metal frames are right for you if you want strong, durable frames that look aesthetically beautiful and are available in subtle frame colours. Acetate frames are right for you if you want a smooth, glossy frame material that is easy to clean and comes in a vast range of colours, prints and patterns.

Luxury designer brands like Dolce and Gabbana can prove to be an expensive purchase however it should be seen as a long-term investment to your eye health. Designer glasses and sunglasses are not only fashion statement items, they are high-quality goods that can help to correct your vision as well as protect your eyes against UV light.
