Born originally as Karl Anderson Jr., Michael David Kors had a strong interest for fashion since a very young age. Shortly after enrolling at the Fashion Institute of Technology in 1977 he dropped out and went to work at a boutique. This job enabled him to work more on his first own women’s ready to wear collection, which he launched in 1981 and was sold at the prestigious Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman department stores in New York.
In 1997 he became the first designer and creative director for the French fashion house Celine. A few years later, in 2002 he launched his first menswear collection, which was followed by the MICHAEL by Michael Kors (shoes, handbags and ready to wear collection) and KORS by Michael Kors (shoes and jeans) lines in 2004.
The Michael Kors eyewear collection represents the elegant and style conscious New York jet setter, who appreciates quality. Inspired by travel, the collections include oversized shapes and warm colours that put a hint of luxury in everyday life. The line includes men’s and women’s glasses and sunglasses that come in different shapes and styles for an either sporty or Hollywood glamour look.
With its own range of Aviators, Michael Kors recreated this classic style and put it in a brand new light. The materials used are high quality acetate and metal for a perfect fit. The Jet Set Monogram collection features vibrant colours to create a fresh and trendy look for the fashionable men and women of all ages. The MK Charm collection glasses and sunglasses featuring the signature MK logo are stylish, lightweight and a great addition to any outfit.
